FAQ

Straight answers

What happens when we hire our 11th person?
Paid turns on. It's $5 × every seat, so an 11-person team is $55/month. Your data and setup don't change, only billing.
Can a small team pay before 10 seats?
Yes. Paid is available at any size, that's how you get QuickBooks sync and client-specific rate cards before you reach 10.
What happens if we downgrade?
Your data is kept. Client-specific rate cards, rate history, and integrations lock but stay visible; your standard rate card keeps working.
Is the price different for bigger teams?
No. One published price: $5 per seat, every seat, at any size.
About

Why Lane Eight

Lane Eight is a timesheet service for services firms, built for the ones starting small and those growing fast. Whether you're a marketing agency, law firm, accountant, or consultancy, you track hours, set your rates, get them approved, and turn them into reports you can bill from. That's the whole job, and we built it to do that job well, and to get it done quickly so you can focus on your business.

The name comes from track and swimming. The fastest qualifiers get the center lanes. Lane eight, the outside lane, the outside smoke, goes to the competitor nobody's watching, the slowest seed, the one no one is watching. But lane eight is where the best stories come from. The come-from-behind win. The unknown who takes the whole thing.

That's who we build for. The firm on the outside, betting on itself, doing the work, every bit as capable of finishing first. We named the company after the ones starting small with big plans, because we have those too. Tell us what's slowing you down, and we'll build toward it.
