Features Your Business Needs

Timesheets that are simple for your team and effective for your business.

TIMESHEETS

Effortless Time Entry

Your team picks the project, enters their hours, and submits, all in one clean weekly grid.

  • A simple weekly grid shows day and week totals at a glance
  • Copy last week's entries and adjust what changed
  • It works on web, tablet, and mobile
APPROVALS

Submit and approve in one place

Everyone submits their week, you approve it, and approved time stays locked and clean.

  • Weekly submissions get one-click approval
  • You can see who's logged their time and who hasn't
  • Reminders nudge the stragglers for you
REPORTING

Every billable hour, report ready

Every approved hour rolls up into clean reports by project, client, and person, ready to bill from.

  • Billable and internal time are split automatically
  • Filter and total your hours any way you slice them
  • Export to CSV or Excel, priced from your rate cards
RATE CARDS

Customize your rates

Set your bill rates once and every report prices itself. Build cards by role and client, so the right number always follows the work.

FAQ

The Q's & A's

What do I get when I sign up?
You get everything: the full paid experience with unlimited rate cards, every seat, and all reports, free for 30 days. No credit card is required.
What happens after 30 days?
If you're under 10 seats, Free keeps working: your standard rate card keeps working with up to 3 active roles, and approvals and reports stay active. Client rate cards and rate history lock but stay visible, and if you turn on Paid later, they're right where you left them.
Do I lose my data if I don't pay?
No. Your data stays, whether you're on Free or Paid.
What happens when we hire our 11th person?
Congratulations! Turn on your paid subscription and keep on growing. It's $5 × every seat, so an 11-person team is $55/month.
Can a team pay before 10 seats?
Yes. Paid is available at any size, that's how you get QuickBooks sync and client-specific rate cards before you reach 10.
What happens if we need fewer seats?
Your data is kept. Client-specific rate cards, rate history, and integrations lock but stay visible, and your standard rate card keeps working with up to 3 active roles.
Is the price different for bigger teams?
No. One published price: $5 per seat, every seat, at any size.
About

Why Lane Eight

Lane Eight is a timesheet service for services firms, built for the ones starting small and those growing fast. Whether you're a marketing agency, law firm, accountant, or consultancy, you track hours, set your rates, get them approved, and turn them into reports you can bill from. That's the whole job, and we built it to do that job well, and to get it done quickly so you can focus on your business.

The name comes from track and swimming. The fastest qualifiers get the center lanes. Lane eight, the outside lane, the outside smoke, goes to the competitor nobody's watching, the slowest seed, the one least likely to win. But lane eight is where the best stories come from. The come-from-behind win. The unknown who takes the whole thing.

That's who we build for. The firm on the outside, betting on itself, doing the work, every bit as capable of finishing first. We named the company after the ones starting small with big plans, because we have those too. We're onboarding our first companies now. Tell us what's slowing you down, and we'll build toward it.
